The 1980 Fantasy Calendar

This, Boris' second calendar, was the first to be published by Workman Publishing. At 12½" x 12" (31.3 x 30 cms) it was smaller than its predecessor but still wider than is now the norm. It came in a large white card mailing envelope with a good quality reproduction of the cover on one side. All 14 artworks, mostly cover art^*, were drawn from Boris' existing portfolio but apart from being almost entirely fantasy subjects (the sole exception was the month of October) did not have the benefit of any co-ordinating theme.

^*Cover art is particularly suitable for use in calendars because the large space at the top, for insertion of the book title etc, makes it easier to crop them to the required square format.
